Why I Chose the OBM Path

My OBM journey began with a desire for something more—a career that didn’t just pay the bills but also gave me the freedom to design my life. I was living abroad with two young kids, trying to figure out how to balance financial independence with being present for my family.

I stumbled upon the concept of Online Business Management almost by accident, but as I dug deeper, I realized it was a natural fit for me. The work—organizing operations, managing teams, and streamlining systems—aligned perfectly with my existing skills, even though I hadn’t called it “OBM” before.

This realization was a turning point. I saw the potential not only for a flexible, meaningful career but also for a way to truly support entrepreneurs in achieving their goals.

The Challenges and Wins Along the Way

Stepping into the OBM role wasn’t easy. Like many aspiring OBMs, I struggled with imposter syndrome. I wondered, “Am I really qualified? Will anyone hire me?” But I quickly learned that clarity comes through action.

In the podcast, I share how I landed my first client—not through a fancy website or polished portfolio, but by simply showing up and offering help. That first “yes” gave me the confidence to keep going, even when the learning curve felt steep.
Some of my most valuable lessons came from mistakes:

  • Underpricing my services and realizing the value I bring
  • Taking on clients who weren’t the right fit and learning how to set boundaries
  • Discovering that systems are the backbone of sustainable growth
  • Each challenge pushed me to refine my approach and build a business that aligned with my goals and values.

From OBM to Mentor and Beyond

As my OBM career grew, I saw a gap in the industry: so many talented people were doing OBM-like work but lacked the tools and confidence to market themselves as OBMs. That’s what inspired me to start OBM School.

Today, OBM School is more than a training program—it’s a community. I’m passionate about helping aspiring OBMs gain the skills, clarity, and support they need to succeed. Seeing my students thrive is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
